The year 2005 was certainly not the best of years, to put it mildly. My advice to you is to either leave the 2005 annata in the wine cellar, or to pour the nectar into a landfill, while saving the bottles, placing your most repressed and nasty messages in them, and sending them out to sea or to your favorite congressman. Be particularly careful with the bottles labeled “Natural Disasters, Hurricanes, and Earthquakes,” “Bumbled Responses to Katrina,” “Withdrawn Supreme Court Nominees,” “Indictment of Top Aides,” “Spying on American Citizens,” “Indictment of Tom DeLay,” “Democratic Finger-Pointing,” and “Iraq Conundrum.” Those vessels contain elixirs more potent than hemlock to a Greek philosopher, and they will only procure weeds and erosion to fertile soils.
